Biography:
Adrian Toomes, portrayed by Michael Keaton, is the Vulture in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appears in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Toomes is initially a salvage contractor hired to clean up after the Battle of New York. His business is ruined when Damage Control, a joint venture between Tony Stark and the U.S. government, takes over. Embittered, Toomes decides to use the Chitauri technology he salvaged to build advanced weaponry.
He assembles a crew and they operate for years under the radar, selling the stolen tech on the black market. Toomes himself uses a winged suit, becoming the Vulture, a high-flying criminal.
His operation is threatened by the emergence of Spider-Man. Toomes is a grounded family man motivated by providing for his family, which contrasts with the flamboyant villains often seen in superhero stories. His criminal activities create conflict with Spider-Man, leading to their confrontation.
